About the programYouth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is a national and international training program designed to teach adults and young adults (18+) how to identify mental health challenges and help youth (ages 12-18) who may experience a mental health, substance use challenge or crisis.
Once you have completed 2 hours of pre-work, the 6 hour training & 2 surveys, you will officially be certified in YMHFA, which, in addition to helping youth day-to-day, can be useful for job applications as well, as it is a global and international certification for mental health (like CPR, but for mental health). Participants have reported receiving greater pay upon being certified. This YMHFA certification is valid for 3 years. You may receive compensation for taking this course, if eligible: see more below.
